My guys at Sykes
This is a special post dedicated to my friends at Sykes. They are some of the most dedicated, experienced and skilled people any organization would kill to have on their workforce. I have been with most of these guys for the past two years (kasi yung iba dyan bagong salta, but you’ll know them as you read along) and I’m proud to say that i have worked some of the best in the industry. Allow me to introduce you to them.
connie lim - she is our team lead and guiding light. actually, pinakamadaling kausap yan when it comes to work load and schedule requests. unlike other team leads who play everything by the book, connie is more considerate than most and will always find ways to make sure you have everything you need to be productive. though a good friend, she is very professional in her dealings with her agents. work is work and play is play, never will they ever mix. she is also an accountant by training and is pretty good with numbers. she is now being wooed with job offers from several companies.
tere ocon - ah si tere. yan ang COE grad na hindi COE grad kung umasta. though she knows the ins and outs of anything digital, she will never stake such claim. her humility and her expertise have yet to find common ground. medyo overqualified siya for her job, but she is thoroughly focused on her personal goals, so nothing can distract her. but then a higher paycheck is always distracting. what do you think Lawson? Dell? Intercon?
jed fuentebella - my dear negrense friend. Bilib ako dito, IT na, DJ pa! he’s into house music and all that jazz. one of the most patient agents with the highest number of returns. sipag to, i tell you. no matter how difficult the caller is, jed will deliver the goods with a ringing kudos to beat. “jed, hwag kang maingay! may naglalaba.”
paolo cantara - pao used to work for Dell at Ambergris and has been a colleague since 05. he’s one of the smartest guys in the group. siya rin yung sobrang patawa lalo na pag may meeting. muscle man kasi yan, batang gold’s gym. idol yan ng mga L3 namin.
alick narcelles - ah classic to. this guy’s one of the most hygienic i’ve ever known. sabi ni connie pinangalan daw siya sa bumbay na kaibigan ng parents niya. ali khan talaga name niya. kaya may dating, di ba? hardworking, patient and thorough, he’s been given the best agent award for his exemplary work as tech support. too bad he’s leaving for the us soon. we’ll miss you pre.
carlo perez - katabi ko for the past month, then he transferred. was it because i smell? he never said so. anyway, he’s an all around nice guy. masipag at matiyaga. nakauwi na kami, siya nasa linya pa rin with a customer.
rommel gregorio - the quiet type. apple of ollie’s eye. this guy will spell out the word “tenacity” on all fours. though very new with the support, he will never back down from a challenge and will work his way until the customer is satisfied.
jane - if rommel is to ollie, then jane is to richard. another fabulous lady to work with, she is devoid of the prejudice most pretty girls are guilty of. she treats all co-workers with respect regardless of age, sex, position, height and weight.
dianne cruz - last but definitely not the least. pinakamatinong magtrabaho, yan si dianne. hindi pumipitik sa trabaho. yan si dianne. tapat magtago ng treo units, yan si dianne. maraming biskwit sa mesa, yan si dianne. laging nakataxi, yan si dianne. makatao, makadiyos, minsan makakalimutin, yan si dianne. seriously, she is very organized with her work and has the initiative to take on work without complaining. her desire to learn new technologies far exceeds that of tech graduates. she is a gem to have in any organization.
And so, that’s the new and improved Team C. I hope Sykes will take notice of some of these treasures in their backyard. Kudos to all of you!
