Webcast dreaming…

8 May, 2007 (07:30) | Uncategorized | By: Arpee

I used to work for a company called Webcast Technologies as a technical writer, then later as head of the Customer Support Group (CSG) before I joined Sykes Asia. The four and a half years spent with that company was time well spent as through this company I met some of the brightest minds in the technology field. I was lucky to have worked with these great people. Though most of my friends in this office have sought greener pastures in other organizations, I still have most of them in my Yahoo Messenger friends’ list and try to keep in touch every once in a while.

Thanks to Rommel for sending me these pictures.

A long stroll on High Street

There’s nothing like a stroll along Bonifacio High Street after a heavy meal. I remember the first time I went there: that was in November 2006 when Krispy Kreme first flashed the red neon sign in Manila. Back then there weren’t any shops except for Krispy Kreme and Time Zone. Now, High Street is filled with new shops and restaurants to appeal to any tired worker’s fancy. The place was so beautiful I just had to take a few pictures. You should come and visit it one of these days.

Boracay for the budget-conscious

For those who have been dreaming of going to Boracay, here’s good news! Asian Spirit is coming out with a promo for employees. For a minimum of four people in a group, each will only spend P 6,600.00, which includes airfare, taxes, hotel accommodation and roundtrip boat transfers to station 2. For that amount of money you’ll be staying in a beachfront hotel, not bad for a three-day, two-night holiday with friends, di ba?

Notice the plane? No propellers! They’re upgrading their aircraft to the BAe 146 from the former De Havilland Canada DHC 7-102 Dash 7, the one with propellers which I always make the mistake of calling a turboprop.

But they explicity require that you bring your company ID because the promo is strictly for employees only. Check out their website for more info.
