Every Christmas, the City Government of Makati gives away a bag of goodies to their citizens and employees. Since Noreen works for Makati City government, she gets a bag containing 20 cans of sardines, luncheon meat and corned beef and three t-shirts. Not bad, I say. So to get her fair share, I accompanied her to city hall, mostly to help carry all that food. After all that queuing, we got hungry and decided to dine at Noytsi’s Panciteria.

This panciteria (noodle place) is almost the official Makati City Hall food place. The place mostly had lawyers, court clerks, cops and city hall employees filling the tables on a busy Friday lunch hour. Noodles happen to be their specialty and after tasting their sotanghon, I’d rather not contest that. For P75.00 (US$1.78) per order. Each order is good enough for two people seeking a quick and filling fix for a grumbling stomach. I ordered their sotanghon chap chae (Korean vermicelli) along with a fish fillet and camaron rebusado (shrimp dipped in batter then fried).
To keep it simple, let me communicate in pictures. First the booboos:

Mostly starch, very little shrimp.

The fish was already salty. The sauce made it saltier and with very little flavor.
The lone yahoo:

Not bad considering I only paid P75.00 (US$1.78).
Perhaps the locals do not have much of a choice as there aren’t that many places to dine at while in city hall. I hope the owner or chef pays a little more attention to the other items on their menu.
