The Great Trinoma Food Tour as told by her

rptrinoma2

There was a lot of pleading involved before I had this picture taken. Bless me for allowing me to take his picture with the Trinoma logo in the background. As it always with blogger events, it took Arpee some prodding and convincing before he got me to sign up for this event. I am always worried about his blood sugar and uric acid problems, which is why I have always been hesitant to let him go to these events ‘unchaperoned’ lest he forget his body has limits. Fortunately, he is fresh from a “gouty” recovery from all the lengua my mom cooked for him during the holidays so he is more conscientious. Thank goodness.

But my guarding duties did not stop me from enjoying the food tour. What started out as a ho-hum presentation on the mall’s features and attractions, the rest was a walking tour that included restaurants that would have taken us months to visit, as we only eat out on special occasions (he is shouting “happy monday!” in the background. Well, that doesn’t count. Hoy, coding tayo pag lunes!).

The freebies at registration were enough to make me smile. Imagine, a bag of Hershey’s chocolates and a Trinoma notebook for each of us! The little things make me happy and this bag o’ goodies made me snicker. Plus we both got a free movie pass at the Trinoma cinemas!

No confusion at the registration booth! Everything went smooth and nobody went home empty-handed. Notice the pretty lady in red standing the background? That’s Elaine Uy. She reminded me, thru email, about the food tour. I must say that everyone at Team Yehey was very helpful. After the registration, there was this scrumptious buffet spread by Cabalen.

This was a merienda spread and we loved it. The noodles were sotanghon, beside it was lumpiang hubad then the last pork barbecue with peanut sauce. I must admit, their barbecue is one of the best-tasting ever.

Kudos to Cabalen for putting this all togerther! From here on, I will let Arpee talk about the food. I just wanted to steal the show to greet Nina, Ryan De Leon, and Edward Arevalo who rode home with us that night. It was nice to have known you Edward, hope to see you again the next event.

By the way, Arpee loved the band. I thought he was gonna ask me to go home because I know he hates “rock-bararak” noise. But when Sound played some of his Steely Dan favorites, he didn’t move an inch from his seat and stayed throughout the whole set.

I also want to post a couple of pictures from my previous Trinoma adventures. Like my lunch at Kamay Kainan, Trinoma with Lia, a classmate who recently came home from the US…

… and this one when we had a merienda get-together with my bro Leo, my sisters Eden and Espie and the my nephew Aboy. We all loved the fondue at Five Cows Trinoma!

Bottomline, I will invite my friends and family to visit Trinoma more often. I’ve just had a wonderful time and even if I’m a Makati resident, I’ll brave the MRT and come back to dine and watch a movie. I really like the Trinoma and I just might consider having my sister’s debut there. Hmmm. I’m beginning to be convinced…
