Thanks to AJ and his plurk, I wouldn’t have known about the registration for WordCamp Philippines. What is WordCamp? It’s an international get-together of Wordpress users with a common goal of learning from one another and havin’ a great time! It’s one big blogger hobnob and a chance to learn more the tool we all use to publish to the Web.

Having come from Blogger, it was quite a wrestle getting used to the GUI of Wordpress, but nights of self-study proved to be helpful. Codex was helpful, enough to help me start blogging again, but there were several technical challenges that kept me from fully utilizing Wordpress. Now, with WordCamp Philippines, I can learn as much as I can, and probably even increase traffic. I’m very excited to join this event. Anybody who uses Wordpress MUST join WordCamp. Interested? Register now. The event will be on September 6, 2008 at the College of Saint Benilde, Taft Ave, Manila.

My personal congratulations and thanks go out to the Mindanao bloggers for their efforts in helping bring WordCamp to the Philippines. The same goes out to the other great sponsors:

Aside from the good food and cozy ambiance, the serving staff have a novelty of their own that keep customers coming back. The waiters are dressed as policemen, Meralco linemen, SWAT officers and paramedics, each with his own bag of tricks to keep you entertained and make you dig deeper into your pockets for more substantial gratuities at the end of your meal. For speedy service and entertainment, the good food becomes a bonus. I wouldn’t mind chucking a heavy chunk o’ change.
