A California Pizza Kitchen outing
One Saturday afternoon, Noreen and I were craving for pizza and pasta so we decided to drop by California Pizza Kitchen at the Shangri-la Mall in Mandaluyong. The food, the service, everything was wonderful. It was the second time that I had eaten at this restaurant.В Fortunately for me, they maintained the same high level of service while improving their menu to please strictly-Asian palates.
This is their bottomless raspberry iced tea, which sells for P106.00 (US$2.21) and was an instant hit. The lemon iced tea is just as good but I’ve been having it in practically all the restaurants I visit. The taste was fruity and refreshing but not too sweet.
I got a full order of Spaghetti Carbonara, which was good for two. Creamy and strongly flavored, the pasta was heavy on the stomach though it didn’t look that way to me at first. A full order costs P620 (US$12.92).
I never liked peas but this dish made it enjoyable.
Presenting the five-cheese tomato pizza. Really good!
Indeed the proof of the pudding is in the eating. One bite of this pizza and you will change the way you enjoy cheese. At P350 per order (US$2.21), it’s a steal!
What is goodbye without the dessert?
This one’s kinda pricey. It’s P400 (US8.33) per serving but it’s good enough for two or three. Overall, California Pizza Kitchen is far from your usual casual dining restaurant because the service is impeccably of fine-dining standards. I will definely dine with them again.

Wowwow, to the food and to the price..
Glad to know they have not raised the pizza prices that high relative to the pastas. Good choice on the Pizza btw
. I don’t know how much the menu had changed but I used to love ordering their sundried tomato pasta as well as their Tomato Basil Garlic Angel Hair pasta with their Pepperoni Pizza.
a friend and i also had dinner at the same branch. we had pepperoni and salad. we both wanted buffalo wings, but we were disappointed cpk doesn’t have them in their menu.
to rael: according to the lady who served our food, CPK changes their menu offerings every now and then. i suggest you try their new concoctions, you might have a new favorite!
to pensivewanderer: maybe they’ll have it soon, because they do change the items on their menu every now and then. you might want to try their mozzarella sticks, really good!!!
