The Bo’s of Coffee

bosname

Most of the well-known coffee shops in and around Metro Manila as mostly franchises from abroad. For a change I decided to visit a local coffee shop known to have been started in the Queen City of the South, Cebu City.

bosgrind

What makes them different? The most noteworthy is that most of the coffee beans used by Bo’s Coffee are grown in and around the Philippines. The famous Civet coffee, kopi luwak as it is known in Southeast Asia or locally known as Kape Alamid, is just one of the unique coffee pleasures that can only be experienced at Bo’s. For better blends, they do use some coffee beans from South America, but most of the beans they use are still from local farmers.

bosdesserts

Aside from coffee, which I am not that big a fan, there are other things worth your while. Such as free wifi and the most delectable desserts which are 25% cheaper than your average American coffee shop.

bosmochapraline

A slice of this mocha praline is around P115.00 (US$2.40). Mind you, their slices are larger than the usual.

boschoco3

Their desserts are always fresh, as their coffee.

boschoco2

Everybody loves cheesecake and this is their bestseller.

Their Revel Bar is also good!

They have teas too, in case you’re wondering.

Even travel blogger Enrico “Byahilo” Dee loved their brew! I say if it’s good enough for him, then it’s definitely good enough for me.

bosguest

This is Steve Benitez, CEO of Bo’s Coffee Club. The visionary behind this Philippine coffee revolution.

I highly recommend that you give Bo’s coffee a try. Their branch at Bonifacio High Street does not disappoint.

hi arpee. i had a bo’s coffee phase. that was before starbucks opened its first store in cebu. the coffee was quite strong and manages to wake me up on a lazy afternoon. i like the cakes more, though, especially the carrot cake–very moist and sweet.
