Classic Savory’s New Bites for 200...

Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve and then comes 2009. Despite the spending we all did during Christmas, I will still be dining out a bit more than usual in the first few months of 2009. However, because my finances have been “irreparably scarred” because of Christmas (he, he, he) I will probably dine at relatively cheaper places. Hotel buffets will have to take the back seat. But because I love good food, I will strive to dine at restaurants that will give me value for my peso. Lucky me, Savory to the rescue! Everybody loves chicken, including myself, and I...

Pangandaman and son display bad behavior

I just found out about the mauling incident last night. That Agrarian Reform Secretary Pangandaman and his son Nasser Jr were involved in the mauling of a 56-year-old golfer and his 14-year-old son at the Valley Golf and Country Club in Antipolo. Blogger Bambee Dela Paz is the daughter of the elder Dela Paz who got mauled allegedly by Mayor Nasser Jr’s bodyguards. According to the news, the Pangandaman’s got upset because the Dela Paz’s complained to Valley Golf and Country Club admin people about the Pangandaman’s violation of golfing etiquette....

My personal suggestions on where to dine...

A lot of my friends have been asking me for my suggestions to help them decide where to dine, buffet-style, this holiday season. Thus I have decided to write a post about some of the really good places where you can take your family for a nice Christmas lunch/dinner. Because I am budget-conscious, I will begin with the least expensive and work my way down to the most expensive. 1. Paul Calvin’s Deli - (Sorry, I didn’t take pictures when I was here.) The only thing that’s expensive here is how it sounds. You will be surprised that the lunch buffet in...

Wendy’s Baconator: Big Burger for ...

Behold Wendy’s latest burger offering, the Baconator! That’s two large beef patties with two cheeses and six strips of bacon on top. The patties are so large that it bulges out on all sides of the sandwich. The Baconator is thick and juicy, all-meat, no veggies. The first time I tried it, I almost couldn’t finish it. When I did I felt full way until dinner time. They say it’s best enjoyed with Coke Zero, but I prefer Wendy’s sugar-free lite iced tea. It tastes wonderful with the Baconator. I suggest you grab one now! The burger itself...

Chef Laudico’s Bistro Filipino: an...

That’s Chef Laudico speaking to a small group of food enthusiasts. Thanks to Orbit Gum, I was able to have a sample of the great food at Bistro Filipino. I did ask the good chef if I could dine at his restaurant if I only had P500 (US$10) to which he answered with an emphatic “yes!” The first of the three appetizers. Seen here is the Spicy Sisig Basket in Mini Crispy Rice Baskets with Quail’s Egg and Crispy Pork Rind. Wow, quite a mouthful. It’s sisig like you’ve never had before. A must! This is the Crunchy Smoked Milk Fish Balls...
