The Food Revolution of the KKK restaurant

IMG_1309

KKK restaurant is located on the ground floor, a few meters away from the IMAX theater of the Mall of Asia. It’s a restaurant that serves Filipino food with historical memories on the side. What initially convinced me to dine there was interior design. I’m a real sucker for local historical treasures and when combined with another passion, food, the resulting experience is a sure winner. Going inside the KKK restaurant, I was not at all that disappointed.

The service is OK. Not fantastic, but just right considering that the place isn’t exactly a five-star. It’s a restaurant inside a mall that serves good food at reasonable prices. Two people should eat heartily for P500 (US$10.47). Not a bad deal, I think.

There was only the two of us, Noreen and myself, so we only ordered what we could eat. I love soupy dishes so I ordered the Sinigang na Tyan ng Bangus (milkfish belly in sour tamarind broth). It was really good and I must say I’d come back to KKK f or this dish again.

Did I mention that the Bangus (milkfish) was boneless? Yup, I just did!

Noreen ordered one of their house specialties, their Bistek Tagalog (Tagalog-style beef). I didn’t know why this was a house specialty until they served it.

KKK’s chef (I didn’t ask to meet him/her) put a wonderful creative twist on an old Pinoy favorite. Instead of cooking the beef in thin slices, the beef was patiently loosened into fibers and cooked to a crunchy finish and heaped into a tall pile before drizzled with the sauce and sprinkled with diced tomatoes and onions. An amazing dish, I believe.

I will come back to this restaurant the next time I visit the SM Mall of Asia. I hope you do too when you visit the Mall.

Nice post! I ate at Masas yesterday and I really feel that it is high time that Filipino cuisine make its mark around the world, starting with our own hearts. Whenever I am in Singapore, I patronize and haul my Singaporean friends to 7107 Flavors so they can start to appreciate our cuisine. We need more restos that serve well-prepared Philippine comfort food, definitely.

Well, we had the WORST KKK encounter at MOA Branch today… the staff really sucks big time! If i were to rate their services and 10 is the highest? i’d rate them 0! and…. for making us wait for almost 5-10mins for our order of Kare-kare then saying it isn’t available and made us change for another one which was Bulalo… and the order was still not available?! MY GOD! Close the store if you can’t give what ur customers ordered for ok?! AND PLEASE… the waiters keep that stupid look while taking the orders…. quit if you don’t like your job for heaven’s sake! AND if ever the staff considers the customers’ reactions and comments significant… keep an eye on your MOA Branch… My previous visit in one of your branches (North Edsa), was good… the crew was lively and i got the order i wanted and it was delicious i must say…

PS.. It would be really good if the staff were know more about MANNERS. :)

Medicines for impotence, most of them carry a serious threat within the form of a side impact. Take as an example erectile dysfunction vacuum devices, it has been verified to work for those who cannot consume pills for impotence. But these devices can result in side effects, like skin break down, bruising and painful erections.
