Davao FAT: Day 2

Lunch for Davao FAT Day 2 was at Pepper & Peppers. It is a quaint little place in the heart of the city (Central Convenience Store Compound, E. Jacinto Extension corner V. Mapa Street, Davao City) where you can sample their specialty, the Iberian Chicken.

They get a whole chicken, then marinate it with their own special herbs and spices, lavish it with olive oil and grade A potatoes then pop it in the oven. True to the owner’s description, it really did deserve a special place in the table.

Pepper & Peppers opened late last year, 2008 and already this hidden wonder is already attracting the Davao dining crowd. It has even attracted the blogger crowd from Manila.

We all had a wonderful time. Aside from the good food, Davao FAT provided good company, courtesy of the Mindanao bloggers. They are easy to get along with and will go the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. I must mention that I really appreciate their generosity, especially Blogie’s and Andrew’s for bothering the pick us all up from our hotels and bringing us around Davao City. I know how bothersome guests can be, but Blogie and Andrew spent their time, money and gas just to make sure that we were all comfortable and safe. Kudos to everyone including Ria Jose, Chatee, Migs and also Chiq Montes, who traveled all the way from Cagayan De Oro just to spend time with us. Noreen and I can never thank you guys enough.

Well, a lot of you wanted to see what we ate? Here are the rest of the pictures. ENJOY!

Pepper & Peppers’ version of the Sisig (parts from a pig’s head and liver seasoned with Philippine lemon and chili peppers). Theirs is crunchy and served hot. Their Sisig will give Manila restaurants a run for their money.
