The Original Mile Hi Diner

DSC00276

Recently I had dinner with some friends and we were looking for a good place to eat inside the Global City so we won’t have to brave Makati traffic just to find good eats. Lo and behold Burgos Circle, Forbes Town Center, Global City, Taguig, where you will find my latest find, the Original Mile Hi Diner.

Excuse the colors of the photos, I didn’t bring along my trusty Canon/ Lumix for this dinner. I found this place purely by accident. Judging from the menu, I decided to give it a try as prices weren’t as scary as the other restaurants in the area. Plus the fact that I love diner food, don’t you?

Each meal comes with soup, creamy soup that is. I found the soup to be quite a surprise and for something that’s free, I would have paid extra for it. It was really good!

There is nothing lewd or risque about this dish. It is the Original Mile Hi Diner, but I don’t see people going into the bathroom to do the nasty. Their burgers, however, are wickedly good. Like this one, it’s the house specialty. It’s a quarter-pounder stuffed with mozzarella cheese accompanied by large fries in copious amounts! Don’t be deceived by it’s size. It’s hard to finish in one sitting, even by someone who eats a lot like me. It is very filling, much like eating a 20 pieces of cochinta (Philippine sticky rice cake), but it’s not salty and the burger is really 100% beef. No floury extenders. At P250 (US$ 5.21) including taxes, this burger’s a runaway hit!

This is their Cordon Bleu. Yeah I know, it should have been eaten with mashed potatoes and gravy rather than rice, but Noreen preferred rice with it, only to regret later on that it DOES go well with mashed potatoes. Don’t make that mistake when you come here. This is only P250 (US$5.21).

I loved the cheese ooze out of this burger. Really good.

Yes, you need to sink your teeth in this. Yes, you!

Don’t forget, eat this with mashed potatoes. You can’t go wrong with the Original Mile Hi Diner. Oh and they DO deliver.

Sadly, the one in Eastwood is terrible. I dont know if they deliver, but this restaurant has declined in service and quality of food since I wrote this post. i hope they do something about it.
