Why I love Dairy Queen

I love Dairy Queen because they are the inventors of soft serve ice cream. My favorite is the Dilly Bar, a no-frills cream bar treat. They actually just make it in the stores. They get a flat stick, twirl some soft serve ice cream on it, then dip the whole thing in chocolate. I love it!
What’s the difference between soft-serve and regular ice cream?
Soft serve ice cream is made and stored at a higher temperature, as compared to regular ice cream. At time time that soft serve is frozen, more air is introduced to it and because of this, soft serve appears whiter and tastes creamier. At warmer temperatures, the human taste bud is said to differentiate more tastes when the food is not too cold. In the Philippines, Dairy Queen has been around since I can remember. Sorry I can’t mention a specific year because I can’t find reliable intel on that. However, being alive for 39 years, I am pretty sure that DQ has been around more than just a decade or two.
For the rest of the ice-cream eating/craving population, the Blizzard is the champion. True enough, with all that good stuff in a cup, it’ll make anyone feel happy, even for a short while or until the sugar high lasts.

the original franchise of DQ has been around since the 70′s situated on Buendia in the Pasay area. I’m unsure if that was a real franchise but they did have the dilly bar and soft serve dipped cones. It was a treat for our family to go there after dinner. i would sometimes ave my dilly bar in the freezer and i would take a tiny bite each day. A Dilly bar could last me a month or so.
after that folded back in the 80′s it was brought in during the early 90′s (92 i think). one of their first was in Glorietta 1 where they introduced their Blizzards. rumor had it during the long rolling brown out of the time they wouldnt flip over their blizzards from fear that it would actually fall out. DQ then lost steam for a while folded shop in makati for a few years and then opened again a few years ago in glorietta 4.
