One lazy weekday afternoon, I decided to walk over to the Makati Shangrila Hotel and have some of the best-tasting dimsum in town. This could only be enjoyed at the Shang Palace restaurant. From 2010, they still have the P888++ per person (P1,091 nett) dimsum all you can. I was delighted to know that they still have this promo to this day.
I love dining at the Makati Shangrila because of the service and the quality of food. It may be slightly pricey, but you get your money’s worth.
At Shang Palace, dimsum because extraordinary. The waiters are very knowledgeable with the food they serve. When availing of this dimsum buffet, they give you a separate menu and clearly indicates which ones you can unlimitedly have, versus those which you can only avail once. The dimsum is unlimited and this includes rice, noodles and soup. The main dishes, you can only have once. Desserts are equally unlimited. Not like the average buffet, food is brought to you. You need not stand up with an empty plate and get from food that is strewn across the table in disarray. Shang Palace’s dimsum takes a little time because they will make it from scratch. Dumplings are prepared and steamed only when you order it. So if you order Xiao Long Bao, expect to wait a little bit for it. Same with the pork-shrimp siomai. See how lovely their siomai is.
The fish roe on top is such a delightful touch. A closer look.
For the main course, I ordered Hot Prawn Salad.
The prawns are huge and fresh. I am normally allergic to shellfish but if not they are fresh. Such is the case with Shang Palace. I enjoyed all the shellfish I could order because they served it fresh and piping hot.
If you want to dine here, call them at 840 0884 for reservations and more information. The Dimsum Buffet is available Monday to Saturday 11.30 am to 2.30 pm only. Enjoy!
I would like to ask if Shang Palace offers Dimsum buffet this July- August.
