The Chicken Rice Shop is a really nice Hainanese chicken place along Katipunan St, Quezon City and there is a reason why parking is difficult here. Because the word is out and every chicken lover in the Metro is there trying to get their lion share. Note: there is parking at the back of the place so if you see the parking full in front, ask the guard to let you park at the of Army Navy.
This is the quarter chicken set that I believe is just right for one person. There is a personal set worth P166 but this quarter chicken set worth P188 is more value for money. It comes in steamed or roast. These days, I’ve been getting attached to roast.
The flavors of this dish is unbelievably savory, delicious and downright unforgettable. I highly recommend this place for either dates, family lunches, or even functions. They also serve other Singaporean dishes such as Nonya Pie Tew, which is the vegetable-only version of Kew Pie Tew, and is heavenly.
The rice doesn’t get anymore authentic than this. By itself, I ordered take-out of one cup of rice without anything and I finished it in minutes.
If you don’t like to have your Hainanese chicken with rice, then you can opt to have it in soup with noodles, which turned out to be just divine. Note that the chicken is cheaper with rice than with noodles and that the portions with noodles can be a little lacking. Just a little.
I’m a happy camper and I expect you would be too at The Chicken Rice Shop.
wow ang sarap naman nyan!
