Bullying in the Philippine Workplace

Bullying in the Philippine Workplace

We might have experienced bullying at one point in our lives, most of these times were in school and we might have been a lot younger then. In Philippine culture, it is a problem that is not commonly addressed because to cry foul would be to admit weakness, making one more vulnerable to the bullying. For children, the best way to settle bullying is in the back of the quadrangle stage, after school hours. Usually, a non-lethal exchange of punches is more than enough to curb the bullying and maybe even end up as friends. However, this is not always the case. When it happens...

SkyCable Broadband: No Assistance to Use...

Yes, this time Globe Tattoo came to my rescue. I am an ordinary employee who just wants a stable 1MBps connection. It is all I pray for, because anything higher than that will cost me an arm and a leg. As an alternative I wanted to subscribe to SkyCable Broadband because I heard the speed is OK, plus it is cheaper than maintaining a separate Tattoo line. So the SkyCable guy arrived at a time when I was at work. After installing it, he left. I called him specifically because I wanted to know the following: If he left a user guide for the modem/router the login credentials...
Drag Racing along Macapagal Avenue shared in Facebook

Drag Racing along Macapagal Avenue share...

I am appalled at how some people are actually very proud to do drag racing along Macapagal Avenue. At whatever time of the day or night, there are people, commuters and travelers on these streets and drag racing, whether with old or new cars is just plain irresponsible. I am a motorist and I do not want to be hit by these erring drivers when I go to the Mall of Asia or to Solaire. They practically block the traffic and race along the highway even in the midst of so many motorists, as you can see from this screencap. The husband of the lady who shared these videos owns a...

Jack Enrile, Nancy Binay and other mista...

I personally don’t understand why people have become so darn forgetful. I’m in my 40s and probably that is why I remember a lot come election time. First of all, I apologize for writing a political blog post, I promised I would not. However, after reading Philip Tubeza’s Inquirer article, “Why victim’s family did not charge Jack Enrile” the memories of Martial Law came flooding back. I am a Martial Law baby and by the time I was in high school, I only knew one president, Ferdinand Marcos, and that’s not because I didn’t read the...

Darwin Marasigan: Why they made a FB pag...

So here’s the successor to that guy who slapped the MMDA officer.  It all started with a post on the law regarding the Iqama, or that document that allows a foreign national to stay in Saudi Arabia. So a lot of KSA-based Overseas Filipino Workers gave their views, until someone named Darwin Marasigan made this post:   A lot of people got upset with his comment and a FB page has been made in his “honor.” In less than 9 hours, it has gone viral and is expected to spill into traditional media. The maker of the FB page has an axe to grind, as...

Camera confessions

Yes my dear reader, I am guilty as hell. Guilty of never even wanting to buy a DSLR (because I’d rather spend it on a new laptop) and guilty of using only a MyPhone A919 camera for most of my pictures here. If not the IPad 3′s camera, most of the images you will see here are shot using a P7990 -peso cell phone camera. I felt I had to disclose this. No this is not a sponsored post, because I bought this phone out of my own money (Christmas bonus 2012). My point here is this, good photos need not be taken with an expensive camera. I don’t take the best...
